I am overwhelmed with gratitude right now that I have a healthy body, a fantastic job, lovely friends, tiny music filled clubs surrounded by sweaty dancing bodies, a silly little shitty awful scooter that gets me where I need to go, a palm tree tunnel to walk through to get to my stairs, and a just-my-size, all to myself rectangle of an upstairs apartment where I can come home and turn on my music and stretch out on the cool wooden floor.
I am cigarette reeking, sweat stinking, rain-sprayed exhausted, and I am deliriously happy to be where I am right now.
Someone in Laos loves y’all, but someone really loves Laos and is so glad to be back. Good night.
